Senator Tony Mendoza Announces Appointment As Chairman of the Committee on Insurance, Banking, and Financial Institutions

SACRAMENTO – Today, Senator Tony Mendoza (D-Artesia) was appointed as the Chair of the newly formed Committee on Insurance, Banking, and Financial Institutions by the Senate Committee on Rules. Effective May 18, the newly formed committee will replace the Committees on Insurance and Banking & Financial Institutions. Also serving on the Committee will be Senator Gaines as Vice Chair with Senators Berryhill, Galgiani, Glazer, Hernandez, Hueso, Lara, Mitchell, Morrell, Newman, Portantino, and Roth as members.

His record protecting consumers and the most vulnerable in our society and his passion for fair business regulation will serve the Senate and our constituents well,” Senate President pro Tempore Kevin de León (D-Los Angeles) said.
