Licensing & Financial Disclosures Required

Sacramento- Senate Bill 648, authored by Senator Tony Mendoza (D-Artesia), was approved by the State Senate today on a bipartisan vote. The bill will protect seniors and their families from elder care referral agencies that engage in unscrupulous business practices by strengthening licensing and financial disclosure requirements. The bill now goes to the State Assembly for consideration.

Sacramento-For only the second time in California history, the State Senate and State Assembly today have adopted a Senate Concurrent Resolution (SCR) declaring January 26th as “India Republic Day”, recognizing the contributions of the Asian Indian American community to California.

Sacramento – In his first legislative act of the New Year, Senator Tony Mendoza (D-Artesia) adjourned the California State Senate in memory of three area residents, Downey Police Officer Ricky Galvez, special needs student Hun Joon “Paul” Lee and California State University Long Beach student Nohemi Gonzalez.

“It is an honor for me to adjourn the California State Senate in memory of these area residents. My thoughts and prayers are with their families, friends and colleagues during this difficult time,” said Senator Tony Mendoza.
