CERRITOS – Senator Tony Mendoza (D-Artesia) hosted a commemoration for Hun Joon “Paul” Lee. Paul Lee was the inspiration for the Paul Lee School Bus Safety Law, which requires safety measures for all school buses in the state of California.

Senator Mendoza met with Paul’s family and presented them with a framed copy of the Law. The family and the Senator spoke on several issues and shared memories of Paul.

NORWALK – Senator Tony Mendoza (D-Artesia) will be attending & participating in The Young Latinas Empowerment Conference on March 24, 2017. This event will pair young Latinas with Latina political figures for empowerment, learning opportunities, and mentorship. Students selected to participate are juniors from high schools throughout the 32nd Senate District.

Senator Mendoza, along with other public representatives, will be serving food and drinks during the luncheon.

Sacramento - Senate Bill (SB 1167) by Senator Tony Mendoza, Chair of the Senate Labor and Industrial Relations Committee, was signed by Governor Brown today.

The new law will require the California Division of Occupational Safety and Health Standards Board (DOSH) to draft and propose heat illness and injury prevention standards for indoor worksites. The law goes into effect on January 1, 2017.
